I am Alan, a fully qualified government approved driving instructor (ADI grade 5).

I have lived in and around the Cumbernauld area for the last 30 years and am now based in Kilsyth. I have a son and daughter both married one grandson and another on the way.

I have been an hgv mechanic all my working life and also hold a class 1 driving licence. I worked with my father at first then went onto work with Tennents brewery. Finally with Ryder trucks working my way up to be a supervisor/service manager and was mentor to the apprentice program taking the boys through their apprenticeship to eventually becoming fully qualified mechanics. This I found very rewarding.

In 2003, I decided in a career change and combined my training expertise with driving to become a driving instructor.

My hobbies include breeding, showing, judging and organising dog shows, playing golf and football (only watching football these days hung up the boots some time back !).
