Alan is a great instructor, very patient and a very humerous chap.... he helped me pass my driving test first time back in 2006. I recommend him to anyone looking to take driving lessons.... hes the man, go for it!

I would highly recommend Alan as a driving instructor. I managed to pass my test first time with only two minor mistakes and I couldn't have done it without him. He is a great teacher; very patient and extremely helpful with everything.

I passed quickly and before a lot of my friends, who had been taking lessons long before I had started. Also, there is a lot more structure to his teaching plan, with clear learning points that have to be covered, unlike a lot of driving instructors that don't have much structure.

I will definately recommend Alan to all of my friends and relatives, and personally, I feel like a safe and careful driver.

He's an all round great guy, and brilliant teacher.

due to circumstances had to pass test first time and true to his word the big fella delivered even had to sit the test with the chief examiner at springburn and came away with only one minor fault cant thank alan enough for his expertise and the manner he practises when he is teaching you january 2010

I definitely would recommend Alan Black as a great driving instructor and I had two other instructors previously so I should know.  I didn’t want to drive anymore after my experience with the previous two, one too laid back and the other too strict. But I thought I better get back in the game after months of not driving at all. My cousin, who learned with Alan and passed, gave me his number and I couldn’t be more pleased. He helped me through an intensive driving of 16 hrs in 4 days and I passed my test first time just a few days later. He was a great combination of nice but firm instructor. He had the patience of a saint (especially with all the mistakes I was making) and great techniques for teaching. Thanks Alan I really appreciated it.

Excellent teacher. Alan is very insightful into which flaws affect you most and is quick to work you through them. 10 lessons with Alan left me feeling a confident driver with more than enough knowledge to tackle the practical test, hence I passed first time.

I always felt aware of the progress I was making and can give enough credit to the structure and guidance Alan presented through his lessons.

I had taken 15 lesson a few years ago, and was getting no where fast! My confidence and enthusiasim faded, and I gave up. When I got gift vouchers for lesson with Alan as a gift, I must admit I was apprehensive.

I could'nt have been more surprised, Alan was fab from the very start, and guided me through each leasson with patience, discipline....and defo some humour, at time if I had'nt laughed I'd have cried! But with Alans guidence, I quickly became a confident and able driver. Passing my test 1st time!!  Its was AMAZING!! And I've never looked back!

If, as I did, you have tried a few Driving Instructors, who are not progressing you, or spending more time talking about themselves than about your tuition (sound familiar), change to Alan Black now! Don't keep wasting money, they don't get any better.....& neither will you!

Alan is truly all he claims on his homepage! Professional, disciplined, courteous, and focussed on your success. Even better though, he managed to keep me disciplined & focussed too!
